aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! VISIONS OVERLOAD!!!!! This is the "music video" we made this year, check out my funky chicken yo!
I got home from Visions yesterday around 3.30. I fell asleep about 4.30. Woke up this morning at 7.30! Does that answer the question of how fabulous the week was?
1st day I was happy cause I didn't have to do the team-building hahaha! Most of it was the same as the previous year, but it was fun to watch That night was the quiz, which my job was marking along with Eamonn. The team named "7 hags and a fag" won, a few other teams, including Corrymeela staff, tried bribery but it didn't work!
Day 2 in the Big Visions house... issue-based workshops! Samantha and I were in with the Mask-making group, and we went to workshops based on habitat for humanity, two tribes and bystander principle. All 3 were very interesting, usually at least one makes me wanna sleep! This evening's entertainment was Karaoke, and although I didn't sing (but wanted too, we put ourselves down for S Club 7 haha!) it was great fun, Gemma and I made a banner that said I ♥ Keith, stood on our chairs and screamed when he was singing, he loved it and we got hugs afterwards.
3rd day they decided to let us out! The traditional trip to Carrack-a-rede, Giants Causeway and Portrush. Once again, I did not cross the bridge, so I walked around the other side of the cliff where I had a good view, and was joined by Cliodhna (Neevy's sis, met her at "mini-Oxegen" last year) and Michael, who wasn't allowed to cross because he insisted on walking backward the whole way! Giants Causeway was next stop, I walked down with Shanie and we had a very interesting and way too informative conversation! There was a whole group on top of the causeway, singing a rendition of "everywhere we go" and some tourists were interested in who we were and what we were doing, so I got to explain the history of Visions... got the bus back to the top, and it was time to go to Portrush! Well, it was great, apart from my near death experience, on a ride called, well, The Experience! I swear, I've never been so scared in my life... I really should have watched what the darn thing did 1st! It would have been fine, except the guy came over to be before it started to check my, eh, security barrier thing was on properly, so of course that made me panic, but by then it was too late, we'd started, and the thing spun around with me and Gemma staring at the ceiling, then it made us go backwards and sideways and I don't know what else! I've never been so glad to get off a ride in my life, I had to do the Ghost Train and Roller Coaster just to get over it! Went back to Corrymeela for dinner and start of the arts workshop, and then it was time for "When Will I Be Famous?" a talent show hosted by moi with Daniel sorting out the music! It went really well, everyone that took part and watched had a great time, didn't want it to end!
Next day Samantha got to sleep cause she'd been on night duty the night before, so it was myself and Hutchy in with the mask-making group all day. I made 2, one to represent poverty and another to represent myself (kinda lol) it was fun, I'm not usually into that kind of stuff so it was good to be pushed into something different for a change, seeing as I always do the media related workshop (although my hand made an appearance in this years hehe! Gotta love Ben)
Now, I'm sure you've noticed, I'm talking about Visions yet there's no sign of the "F" word... well, our little clique from last year agreed we would boycott it, until a leader who wasn't either me or Shane (cause we were involved and stuff) said it 1st. It lasted until Friday morning around 4.30am or so, I was on night duty and bored, so I went into the Media room to talk to Shane and Niamh, and the word-that-must-not-be-named came up... well, Aaron, who was also a leader, said "I'm a leader, I'm allowed to say flange!" oh boy, were we excited! Soon, word that the flange spell had been broken got around, and the next time Ruairi yelled "6.4" the response was "flange!" rather than "woof!" Was fun while it lasted!
So yes, Thursday was my turn for night duty. Twas pretty boring, most of my fellow workers fell asleep, so I watched Aaron play World of Warcraft and Shane check his bebo/myspace/etc. Then Aaron put on coughshrek3cough but we all got bored, plus it was wake-up call time!! Aaron got the loudest bell he could find, I nicked the BNL megaphone and we went crazy, the highlight of my week! Once breakfast was out of the way it was time for the presentations, when all the big shots come up and see what's went on, this year the stakeholders forum came along too, which included our very own former Visionseers Amy, Paul and Gayle, nice to see them all again All the presentations went well, including our own, 1st time I've been nervous about it but it was fine. After lunch (and dishes ) it was time to go home. End of Visons 07... roll on 08! (If they'll have be back lmao!)

'vagina.' Brunette: So? Redhead: Dude, where's my
vagina?
Oh wow, over a month? This is getting ridiculous! So so much to type about!
First, the concerts. My Chemical Romance was at the beginning of the month. Got a bus down with Conor, Leanne, Sabrina, and a bunch of others, only took maybe an hour and a half/two hours to get to Dublin. We got the bus to leave us off in the city centre and walked to the RDS cause according to someone *cough*Conor*cough* it wasn't that far away! We stopped and asked peoplehow to get there, they all said "its the next right" and everytime we went right, someone else would tell us it was the next right, etc. We got there in the end, those who wanted to queue up all day got into position and the rest of us headed back to the city centre to wander until closer to concert time. Other random highlights of the day include seeing P Diddy and his son, a bloody tissue on the ground, and lubricated, blown-up condoms flying through the crowd (oh the many uses for Kremlin freebies, I should make a list!). And the band of course!
Next up we had... HANSON! I dragged Paul along for this one. Locating The Village (where the concert was) was another tough one. This time "straight ahead past the traffic lights and on the right" was the new "next right" hehe! But we found it eventually, once we located it we wandered around Dublin for a bit, I discovered the "me" shop that I WILL go back to next month when I'm there for GC and hopefully have more money, it was ties and trilbys galore! I wanted everything! We hung out in St Stephens Green park for a bit, and soon it was time to head back to The Village for the show. Which was AWESOME! I think I made a fan out of Paul - he enjoyed it anyway. They sang all my favourites and did NOT sing Mmmbop, which although I love it I was very VERY glad they didn't, cause there was a certain percentage of the audience who I know only went to get blocked and hear that song, so haha, you wasted money!
So, what else? Work is still good. I think I'm slowly getting over my ordering obsession. I got my hair did! It's short, back to dark with a streak of purple. I loves it! Now, if I could just get it to sit the way I want, I'll be all set... I think that's about all for now.
